Primary

Star’s Primary campus was established in 2007, in a large villa which has been converted and renovated where required. This helps to nurture the warm ‘home away from home’ feeling that is at the heart of Star’s offering.

The Inclusion Room

We have designated rooms in both the Al Twar and Al Qusais campuses which are recognised as centres of excellence and diversity. These designated rooms have a variety of resources, work desks and sensory areas to support the additional needs and provision for our students with special educational needs.

The Sensory Room

Our sensory room is a unique offering that few schools in Dubai can offer. This has been created to support the inclusion department with the work they need to do with specific children, but also allows us to develop the wellbeing of all students within the school. There are textured walls, varied seating choices and lava lamps, which are used to support the children where needed. The room will continue to be developed, based on the needs of the students within the school.

Secondary

Due to Star’s growth across all school years, our secondary school has recently relocated to a new campus, a completely renovated government school close to the original Al Twar campus.

There is a sense of nostalgia amongst many of our parents, as they had attended that school when they were younger. Whilst it has retained some of its structure and layout, it has been completely modernised for Star to be able to offer excellent academic, sports and extracurricular activities.

Our facilities include:

  • An auditorium and multi-purpose hall
  • Extensive sports facilities including a full-sized football pitch, 3 indoor sports halls, a gym, an 8-lane 25m shaded Olympic swimming pool, outdoor Paddle tennis courts, a 6-lane cricket training pitch, an indoor badminton court, an indoor netball court, and indoor and outdoor basketball/netball courts
  • 4 fully equipped science laboratories
  • Fully stocked libraries with of English and Arabic books
  • STEAM workshops for our innovation skills programmes
  • Music and Arts facilities including a media production suite
  • ICT and Apple Mac suites with professional graphic design, photography, and media editing software
  • A Design and Technology lab
  • A dedicated Sixth Form common area
  • A sensory room to support the inclusion department
  • On-campus catering providing healthy and nutritious meals and Parents’ social café area

Post 16

Our dedicated Post 16 Room offers a calm and structured space where students can study together without distractions. With comfortable sofas and study desks, students are encouraged to use this as a focused workspace.

Star Al Twar - secondary students
It’s important we give our students a place where they can work, because at this level of their education, their studies are very demanding, so giving them a structured space without distractions, means they don’t have to go home and do five hours of work that night.

Ecosystem, Wildlife and Sustainability

We’re constantly developing our new eco and wildlife area, which contains a bearded dragon, tortoises and a terrapin. Future plans include an open aviary with birds and plants and ground wildlife, and a horticulture area where students will have the opportunity to grow their own plants and trees. We’ve also invested in an aquaponics farm, where the fish feed the plants.

On the back of these initiatives, we’ve introduced a Green Team, whose responsibility is for feeding animals and looking after them on a day-to-day basis. We’ll also be introducing an upcycling area, where furniture and pallets can be recycled.
