SCHOOL LIFE

University, Career Guidance & Work Experience

Star’s university support services are also provided on a one-to-one basis, which is quite unique compared to other secondary schools, who often offer whole school seminars with large groups. One-to-one consultations usually incur extra costs, but this provision at Star is included in our fees.

Career Counselling

Students receive career counselling from Key Stage 4 upwards to enable them to make informed choices about their subjects according to their chosen career pathway.
Our school counsellor helps all students on a one-to-one basis in the areas of academic achievement, personal development and career development, ensuring our students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.

Work Experience

Sixth Form students have four weeks of work experience each year that's embedded in the curriculum, which means they leave Star with two months worth of work experience at the end of Year 13.
Employment Scholarship

Employment Scholarship

Star will be implementing employment scholarships - in exchange for ‘real world work’ at the school, whether it be student mentoring, working with our ICT team or on reception, students will be given a discount off their fees and will also graduate from Star with an employment scholarship status. This will provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their work ethic, which will help them in the future when they leave the school to either go into higher education or enter the workforce.
