At Star International School, Al Twar, students are taught the National Curriculum for England from Early Years to Post 16. Through ISP's Learning.First™ framework students grow with a personalised, adaptive and inclusive approach to learning.
This is what the journey looks like for the various age groups:
Early Years (Ages 3–5):The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) helps children to explore learning by means of structured and purposeful play. This will assist them to develop curiosity, independence and a foundation of skills that they will continue to build upon through their educational journey
Primary (Ages 5–11):Learners continue to build essential skills in English and Maths, whilst also exploring a broad and balanced curriculum, through a cross-curricular approach. This stage aims to lay the foundations for academic, social and emotional development, as well as create learning habits needed for future success.
Secondary (Ages 11–16):Students are equipped with deeper subject knowledge, critical thinking skills, and greater independence as learners, preparing them for IGCSEs and BTEC. Through both pastoral and academic support, students are encouraged to explore their interests, build expertise, and develop the personal responsibility needed for adult life.
Post 16 (Ages 16–18):Post-16 education provides students with specialised pathways, such as A-Levels or BTECs, allowing them to focus on subjects linked to their strengths, interests, and future ambitions. It prepares young adults for university, apprenticeships, or the world of work by developing advanced knowledge, independence, and transferable skills.
To gain a complete view of how each stage is supported by another, explore our Learning Journey section, and see how students become confident, capable and curious learners that are prepared to face the future.
