Early Years Stay & Play - 15 May
Young learners aged 3 to 5 at Star International School, Al Twar, build key skills in seven areas of learning through play, exploration and structured activities, guided by teachers who give individual attention and support to all of them.
Children thrive in a calm, nurturing environment where wellbeing comes first. Surrounded by natural elements, they grow through moments of happiness, connection and a genuine love for learning, all within a "home away from home" school.
At Star, students follow a broad international curriculum underpinned by the English National Curriculum, enriched with STEAM, music and digital learning.
Young learners thrive in small, close-knit classes with personalised teaching and regular progress checks. Wellbeing is prioritised by teachers, who provide continuous support to foster a strong sense of belonging and personal growth.
In our kindergarten in Dubai, young learners develop literacy, numerical, cognitive, social and language skills, through purposeful-play, engaging guided discussions and collaborative activities in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Children explore, discover and grow in our well-equipped spaces, carefully designed to spark curiosity and foster a sense of belonging in a safe, inspiring environment where everyone feels truly at home.
Students benefit from a strong partnership between teachers and parents, with regular updates, observations and progress discussions. Parents receive photos and videos to stay involved in their children's daily growth and development.
Early Years learners explore English through interactive methods that build vocabulary, listening and speaking skills alongside Arabic lessons - while valuing and maintaining their home language.

Children at Star, Al Twar take the lead in their own learning, guided by tailored experiences that reflect their interests, needs and stage of development. Through regular observation and assessment, skilled practitioners plan purposeful play and adult-led activities that support each child’s individual progress across the seven areas of learning. Strong partnerships with parents help create a holistic understanding of every child, enabling responsive, child-centred approaches that nurture curiosity, confidence and communication.
Children in the Foundation Stage develop social and collaborative skills by actively engaging in play-based learning. They take part in group activities, role-play and shared problem-solving tasks that promote communication, turn-taking and empathy. With adults modelling positive interactions, children learn to express emotions and resolve conflicts effectively. Daily routines and structured circle times help them build strong relationships and a sense of community, forming the basis for respectful and confident social learners.
Students at our school grow up celebrating multilingualism and multiculturalism from their earliest years. While English is the main language of instruction, they are introduced to Arabic through engaging, age-appropriate lessons that nurture both language skills and cultural understanding. In the classroom, students explore a rich variety of stories, resources and celebrations that reflect the diversity of their school community, encouraging respect for different languages and traditions. With the support of teachers and staff, they build on their home languages and cultural backgrounds, developing a strong sense of identity and global awareness.
As a parent, I’m extremely happy with my child’s progress. Star International School has exceeded my expectations in every way, from its rigorous UK curriculum to the wide range of extracurricular activities that have contributed significantly to my child’s self-development and growth.
