Scholarships
Star Al Twar provides students with bespoke International Learning Opportunities that ensure students have the academic knowledge, skills, and competencies to succeed at and attend their university of choice.
The Star Al Twar Scholarship Programme is designed to recognise and foster excellence in the classroom and beyond. Our scholarship program aims to attract and support talented students who show a passion for, and potential in, their chosen field.
Our bespoke programme aligns with our core values of happiness, well-being and a love of learning, enabling our young people to explore their interests and talents, and harness exceptional potential in areas of strength.
Pupils enrolled on our scholarship programme will be given reduced fees of up to 80%, so that families may re-invest this saving into specialist tuition or support in the area that they excel.
Scholarship recipients will also receive an enhanced enrichment programme. An indicative list is detailed below:
- Bespoke, ‘invitation-only’ access to visits, workshops, and lectures.
- An allocated learning mentor, and regular mentor meetings.
- Access to enhanced skill development workshops.
- Regular target reviews with relevant senior staff
Who can apply?
- Students from all nationalities can apply BUT must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
- New students applying at Star International School, Al Twar
- Scholars of any Secondary age will be considered, but priority will be given to those entering Year 10 and 12 for the academic year 2023-24.
What is the criteria for applying?
To apply for a Falcon scholarship, a student must:
- Have a certificate of completion/release from their current school along with a letter of good conduct.
- Have outstanding academic results from their current school report.
- Typically, this will mean:
- CAT4 SAS Score of 120 or higher*
- GLPT - Stanine 8 or above in core subjects (English, Maths and Science). Or,
- GCSE - Minimum of, or predicted, Grade 7, 8 or 9 (grade A or A*) in English, Maths and Science.
*Where a student is entering Dubai without a CAT 4 or GLPT assessment, this will be completed as part of the scholarship assessment process.
A student with slightly lower academic credentials than stated may still be considered if they have other, relevant, strengths such as sporting and/or musical excellence.
Process
Step 1: Complete the scholarship application:

Step 2: Candidate screening & interview:
- Successful candidates will then be contacted for an assessment at Star, Al Twar, including a personal interview which is an important step in the scholarship process.
Step 3:
- The School’s scholarship committee shall review all the candidates who will then be informed as to whether they have been successful or not.
Scholarships are renewable based on satisfactory performance.
To continue with the scholarship, a student must:
- Display the school’s values daily.
- Maintain outstanding levels of academic progress throughout the scholarship
- Represent the school in at least one external academic competition, annually, and where possible more.
- Meet all requirements of the student expectations and behaviour policies (available on request).
All Scholarships are awarded on a discretionary basis by the Scholarship Committee whose decision is final.
Scholarships will be for two years initially.
